HK Pathway Overview
Federal IRCC offers specific pathways for Hong Kong residents under Public Policy initiated 2021. Two main programs: HK Open Work Permit + HK PR Streams A & B.
HK Open Work Permit
- Open work permit (any employer, any occupation)
- Up to 3 years duration
- Eligibility: HK Special Administrative Region passport, graduated from Canadian or recognized international post-secondary in last 10 years
- Spouse and dependent children can be included
- Processing 4-6 weeks
HK PR Stream A — Canadian Graduates
- Graduated from Canadian post-secondary in last 3 years
- HK SAR passport holder
- CLB 5+ language
- Settlement funds CAD 14,690+
- No work experience required
- Processing 6-12 months
HK PR Stream B — Work Experience
- 1+ year Canadian work experience (under HK Open Work Permit acceptable)
- HK SAR passport holder
- CLB 5+ language
- Post-secondary credentials
- Settlement funds CAD 14,690+
- Processing 6-12 months
