On August 28, 2025, our firm had the privilege of attending — and supporting — the Kingston Interval House (KIH) 50th Anniversary Gala.
A Cornerstone of Our Community for 50 Years
For half a century, Kingston Interval House has been a cornerstone of support for women and children escaping domestic violence. Safety, shelter, counselling, legal referrals, children’s programming, transitional housing — KIH has quietly transformed countless lives and strengthened our community in ways that are often invisible to those who have never needed their services.
A Personal Full-Circle Moment
This gala was especially meaningful for our firm. Our principal lawyer, Dr. Ningjing (Natalie) Zhang, and her children once lived at Kingston Interval House during the hardest chapter of their lives. It was from KIH that Natalie applied to law school — using the shelter’s computer lab, studying after her children went to sleep, and leaning on the staff and residents who believed a refugee mother could become a lawyer.
To be back in that space twenty-plus years later — as a law firm owner, as a donor, and as a proud part of the celebration — is a kind of grace few of us expect to experience.
Standing With KIH Going Forward
BridgePoint Law was proud to be among the supporters of this milestone event, and we will continue to stand with Kingston Interval House in their mission to end domestic abuse and create safer futures for women and children in our region.
If you are in a position to support KIH — financially, through advocacy, or by volunteering — please consider doing so. Fifty years of this work is only possible because a community keeps choosing to show up.
